Diabetic Menu

Not possible, I hear you say. Well, you couldn’t be more wrong. It’s not because you need to follow a strict diet that you can’t enjoy a great meal with lots of taste. When you are diagnosed you think your gourmand-days are over and you can never enjoy a nice meal anymore. But I will prove you wrong. There are hundreds of healthy and delicious recipes that will suit your diabetic menu.

If you would like to have a few ideas, here’s a list of what The Mayo Clinic serves to their patients:

From the main course:

Marinated portobell mushrooms with provolone
Grilled chicken sandwich with sun dried tomatoes
Easy vegetarian lasagne
Carribean beef ragout with coconut rice

(Doesn’t this sound good? But wait, there’s more to come)

to crisp salads:

Arugula salad with cherry tomatoes and shaved parmesan
Lobster and shrimp salad with fresh vegetables

Of course you need to have moderation. But wouldn’t you rather live a longer life so you can enjoy these delicious and healthy foods? Diabetics don’t always have to omit desserts and sweets from their diet. Just be careful not to eat excessive amounts once or twice a week.
